Performance Management for Mixed Oracle/SQL/DB2 Environments

When the database infrastructure includes a mix of Oracle, Microsoft SQL and IBM DB2, DBAs require tools that provide a universal view of the performance and problem solving. Confio Igniter Suite provides a single architecture from which to monitor mixed Oracle, SQL and DB2 environments. Ignite uses a common repository for capturing performance statistics from all monitored databases, and displays the results in a common desktop client. All data is based on Confio's Wait-Time analysis method, giving direct insight into the sources of delays impacting applications dependent on SQL, Oracle or DB2.

Unlike tools that take a snapshot of a single session at one point in time, the Igniter Suite of products shows all sessions all of the time, monitoring databases from a common repository on 24/7 basis. Problems can then be isolated within the database and down to specific SQL statements. And because Confio uses an Agentless architecture, no software is installed on the production systems to be monitored.

Adding new servers to monitor is simple with the Ignite Repository. Initial installation takes only 20 minutes, and after a few minutes more, first performance results are available. Then, adding or changing monitors to track SQL, DB2 or Oracle databases is a quick operation from the Ignite Client. All monitored databases are shown in the single client, giving one-click access to every database covered by Ignite.
