Installation Requirements for Igniter Suite Version 6
Client Workstation
- Ignite Client requires Windows 2000 or XP
- Minimum Oracle SQL Plus client for configuration of Ignite is 8.1.7. If a new Oracle client version is needed, it can be downloaded here: Oracle Database Client 9.2. You may need to login to technet.oracle.com to download this file.
Repository Server
- Ignite Repository requires Oracle 8i, 9i, or 10g. (8.1.7 or higher). This database CANNOT be the database that is to be monitored for performance enhancement. Repository must be a separate instance from the monitored database. Links to download demo versions of Oracle software.
- Repository hardware and configuration must meet minimum requirements as below. It is suggested that a system already in use as an Oracle database server for development or production use be utilized, as any existing Oracle server will typically meet or exceed these requirements.
- Installation requires access to both a non-Sys username/password with DBA privileges, and to the Sys username and password for the Repository server.

Monitored Server
- Igniter Suite 6 supports monitoring of Oracle 9i,9i,10g,11g (8.0.4 or higher), SQL Server 2000 (SP3 and higher) and SQL Server 2005, Sybase ASE 12.5.0.3 and higher, DB2 for LUW 8.2.2 (8.1 Fixpack 13) and higher.
- Oracle monitoring requires DBA privileges to install, but not required for routine operation. SQL Server monitoring requires access to a user with SYSADMIN privileges for each monitored server. Sybase monitoring requires sso_role. DB2 monitoring requires SYSADM privileges
Installation Requirements for Igniter Suite PI Version
Client
- Igniter Suite PI does not include an installed client. All functionality is via a web browser. Supports IE, Firefox, and Safari.
Data Warehouse Server
PI Server for Windows
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4 and above
- 1 CPU (Pentium 4 1.5Mhz or equivalent)
- Ignite will use -
- up to 512 Mb RAM
- up to 300 Mb Disk
- Network connectivity to an MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005 instance to hold the Performance Data Warehouse database.
- PI Server may be on the SQL Server system if desired or can be any separate server.
- Network connectivity to the databases being monitored (MSSQL, Sybase, DB2).
PI Server for Linux/UNIX
- No installer, just unzip then view readme.txt
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.4 and above
- Operating System: Any that support JRE 1.4 and above
- 1 CPU (Pentium 4 1.5Mhz or equivalent)
- Ignite will use -
- up to 512 Mb RAM
- up to 300 Mb Disk
- Network connectivity to an MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005 instance to hold the Performance Data Warehouse database
